Excited-Busy-No Time:
I’m selling patterns through an amazing wholesale company, so my patterns are popping up all over the place! Some are selling really well (like the flag) and some not so much. That in itself musters up some feelings. I know we can’t win them all, but am I crazy to think that I need to head in the direction of the best sellers, or is it too early to tell? I also feel like now that I have the ball rolling I need to keep up, and not just keep up but speed up! So I’m designing a lot, but I haven’t yet found the secret to speeding up my stitching. Sure I can design a pattern in a few nights, but depending on the size it could take weeks/months to actually stitch that design! I need to figure out how all the other designers get things done. Anyone want to share?
Alone-Worried:
The deeper I dig into the world of design, cross-stitch, and crafting in general the bigger I realize it is. It’s HUGE, but not in my area. There isn’t a cross-stitch store within an hour of where I live. I’m just not in the middle of the industry. Sure I know a lot of stitchers: my mom and her friends, my friends, some people I work with. Now that I have a business I would like some business friends and contacts. I think that patience will prevail on this one, along with social media and networking as much as possible. I’m hoping to join the TNNA soon so that I can attend their festivals and conventions. I have so many industry secrets to learn, and I’m worried that if I don’t figure things out quickly that I won’t be able to keep my business afloat.
Satisfied-Full-In Love-Free:
All of this is an answered prayer. I recently read this quote “Loving what you do is freedom; doing what you love is happiness.” It couldn’t be more true for this experience so far, and with continued prayer and perseverance I can only hope that this little dream of mine will grow into a huge part of my life and a sustainable venture.
